Closely observing my surroundings helped influence my art work because, for one I was working with nature. My favorite things about nature is flowers and I like to look at different rocks and stones and observe them from time to time. I liked the fact I was able to create my favorite aspect of nature with my other favorite aspect of nature.
I was able to capture likeness of the subject matter by going out and getting the feel of nature it self. I got the feel the minute I studied my canvas which was the bare ground and the the sight of the rocks helped influence me even more because I then knew what I was building with.
Close observation was very important during this process. I had to make sure that my piece went the flow of nature and everything that was going on. Being that the trees are directly behind my piece I thought it was pretty cool to have a big flower in front of it with the rocks because I wanted to show a different way of creating something so known.
Engaged & Persist
I had to overcome some challenges in this process. One being that I had to go into the nature which is something that I am very cautious about sometimes. At first, I did not know what I wanted to create. As I sat back and thought I knew I liked flowers a lot and usually stones and rocks catch my eye when I am out in nature so I took the two things that I enjoy about nature and created it.
My art work did take an unexpected turn during my process. In the beginning I did not know what I wanted to make this art piece out of. My original idea was going to be to use leaves and create a sculpture of a flower. What made me change my mind was the fact that the wind was blowing and I did not think that would be a good idea. I deiced to use rocks because for one the wind would not blow them away and for two I also like rocks and stones.
What I learned through my art experiences was that sometimes things do not always go as planned. I went into this project thinking I was going to use leaves to create this piece and I ended up using rocks instead. I am happy with the outcome because I just think the rocks was a better choice.
Stretch & Explore
I did try somethings that I wasn't to sure about during this process. I tried to leave at first but being that the wind was blowing I got frustrated because I did not know what else it was that I could have used. When I decided to use to rocks instead I think the outcome was much better.
When I tried to use the rocks instead of the leave it did work out much better for me. Like I said previously the wind was heavy that day and I did not want there to be any mishaps so I had went ahead and changed the idea of what I was building early.
I did pick a material that was new for me use as far as sculpting something. I usually use rocks and leaves to play with for fun outside when it comes to nature but being that this was an actual project it was very much different. I knew I had to have a concept for what it was that I was building and so this meant that I had to have solid material to build with which is why I choose rocks.
I am very dissapontied that my artis now gone. I think that the enviorment is what took a huge toll on my art work. I am glad that I had a chnce to do this art piece alothough it is now gone. I think after the rain came and with all the wind and the change in temperature is what messed up my art piece.
